Why do I need Notion?

Claude can only keep a short summary on its own. Notion is a free notes app that holds the full memory, like a notebook. Claude reads it at the start of a chat and writes new things into it as you talk. You never have to open it, but you can anytime to see or change what's saved.

Do I need to know how to use Notion?

No. You never have to touch Notion if you don't want to. Notion is just where your memory lives, like a notebook Claude keeps for you. Claude does all the reading and writing. You make a free account, connect it, and change one setting. Claude walks you through both.

Do I need to be good with technology?

No. You attach one file, make a free Notion account and connect it, and answer a few easy questions. Claude walks you through each part and does all the building. The one setting you change yourself lets Claude save to Notion without asking you every time.

Will it change how Claude works?

No. Claude works the same as before. The only difference: it checks Simple Memory at the start of a chat, and when you share something worth keeping, it saves it and tells you. Your chats and other settings aren't touched. To turn it off, delete the rules from your Instructions for Claude.

Do I have to learn commands?

No. Just chat normally, and Claude saves things on its own. There are four optional phrases, just there if you want to make sure something gets done. You don't have to memorize them. You can always ask Claude "what can I say?"

Doesn't Claude already have memory?

It does, and it's useful. It keeps a short summary that it picks for itself, and inside a project it only remembers that project. Simple Memory is a full, organized memory you can see and edit, and every chat and project can use it. You can keep both turned on.

Do I need to pay for Claude?

No. We built and tested it on Claude's free plan. You'll also need a free Notion account. The free plan has a message limit, so setup can take two sittings. If you run out partway, come back later and Claude picks up where you left off.

I use ChatGPT. Will it work?

A ChatGPT version is coming soon. Get notified free when it's ready. Never used Claude? It's free and takes about 2 minutes to sign up.

Who can see what my AI saves?

It lives in your own Notion account, and we never see it. Claude reads it when you chat, the same way it reads anything you tell it. You can read, edit or delete any of it at any time.

Will it remind me about things?

Not on its own. Your AI only acts when you open a chat. It checks your Calendar when a chat starts and each new day, so it will usually bring up what's coming. For alerts on your phone, you can also connect your own calendar to Claude, if your plan offers it.
